The Women’s Ministry of First Baptist Villa Rica.

The purpose of the Women’s Ministry is to engage, equip, and encourage women to minister to one another as the body of Christ.
Below are just a few ways we hope to ENGAGE with you.

Bible Studies

Sunday Evening - We will be featuring the new Beth Moore Bible Study, “Law of Love” beginning Sunday Evening, Sept 16th from 5:30-7:00 pm. This class will be facilitated by Missy Yarbrough. If you are interested in participating, please email Missy Yarbrough or contact the church office (770) 459-5138 to request your copy of the workbook. The cost for the book is $11. Childcare is free.

Tuesday Morning - We will be featuring the new Beth Moore Bible Study “Law of Love” beginning Tuesday September 4th from 9-11am . The study is usually ten to twelve weeks and is accompanied by a workbook. These classes are facilitated by Mrs. Diane Stephens and Mrs. Jane Boss. If you are interested in participating, email or call the church office (770-459-5138) to request your copy of the workbook. The cost for the book is $11. Childcare is free.

Wednesday Evening - Beginning September 12, we will have a Wednesday Night Bible Study for ladies only. This study, “Missing Pieces” , will focus on Does God care? Is He fair? Is He even there? Although we may know all the right answers, they don’t always feel right. Explore these and other questions in this realistic look at the messy, mysterious uncertainties of faith. God’s ways don’t always make sense, but He is trustworthy. Come close to Him. Trust Him more than your feelings. God will reveal Himself and fill in your missing pieces. If you are interested in participating in this incredible new study, please contact the church office to reserve your copy of the workbook. WMU (Women’s Missionary Union)

The WMU offers ladies an opportunity to focus on the mission field. During our monthly meetings we pray for those on the mission field as well as identify a project or mission that can be done “here at home”. The Mildred McWhorter Circle meets once a month at the home of Mrs. Frances Armstrong. The monthly meetings are held on the first Monday of each month from 3-5 pm. The mission we choose for that month is financed and carried out by the members. In addition to these activities, we sponsor church missions such as the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox project of Samaritan's Purse and an annual Ladies Luncheon during the summer which raises money for a specific mission project as identified by the Georgia Baptist Convention. This opportunity to carry on God’s work is available to all ladies ages 18 and up. Please call the church office (770-459-5138) for more information.

MMO (Mother’s Morning Out)

ENGAGE would like to announce that beginning September 13 we will have a Mother's Morning Out program. Mother's Morning Out program will be held the first, second, and third Thursday of each month. The program will begin at 9 am - 1 pm. The cost for the program is:
The first child is $10
The second child is $7
The third and remaining children is/are $5

These fees are for each week's participation. When your child is in our care, they will experience the love of God through music, crafts, activities, Bible Stories, and recreations. For more information, email Missy Yarbrough or call (336) 409-2303.

Engage4Moms

Engage4Moms desire to offer community, hope, and encouragement to moms. We don't have all the answers and don't pretend that we are perfect. However, through our victories and more than not our failures, we strive to help moms realize their importance not only to their families but to their Savior, Jesus Christ, our LORD.

We at Engage4Moms desire to see women actively engaged in 4 distinct areas of their lives. First and foremost, we desire to encourage moms to be actively engaged with their Savior, Jesus Christ. Second, we desire to encourage moms to be actively engaged with their families. Third, we desire to encourage moms to be actively engaged in their community. Fourth, we desire to encourage moms to be actively engaged around the world.

If you are in the Atlanta, GA area, we would love for you to come join us. We will begin meeting, January 2013 at First Baptist Church Villa Rica. We will be meeting the 4th Thursday of every month. Craft Corner

ADVENTURES IN SEWING is held on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 PM in the fellowship hall at FBCVR. This class is FREE and open to EVERYONE. We need to know in advance if you are coming so preparation can be made. If you have a sewing machine, have never sewn, or have been sewing for years, WE WANT YOU! Upon completing a project, the class decides what the next one will be! We have lots of fun and it is a thrill to see the faces of students who have successfully made something! CRAFTERS FOR CHRIST meets on the second Saturday of the month and is led by Mrs. Pat Enterkin and Mrs. Joy Barnes. Crafters for Christ meet in the fellowship hall beginning at 9 AM. The members of Crafters for Christ complete craft projects that fulfill a missional need in our local community and spreading outward beyond just the reaches of our surrounding community. In January, members will be crafting Teddy Bears that will be distributed to the Villa Rica Police Department and the West Georgia Ambulance Service. In February, members will be completing their Blanket Project which gives blankets to the Villa Rica Police Department. Also in January, beginning the second Monday of the month, Mrs. Jane Boss and Mrs. Mary Johnston will teach a crochet class. Crochet classes will be held in the fellowship hall from 1:30-3:00 PM. The crochet classes will last four weeks. If you are interested in participating or for more information, please contact the church office (770-459-5138).

Quilting Class - We are proud to announce a new class in quilting. If you are interested in participating in this class, please contact the church at (770-459-5138) and ask to speak to Joy Barnes.

Decades of TIME

I'd like to invite you to an exciting event called Decades of TIME: Truth Intimacy Maturity Eternity. This event will be held September 29 from 5 - 8 PM at First Baptist Church Villa Rica.

From crinolines and beehives to disco balls and leg warmers, this evening's got it all! Fashion show through the decades will highlight only the most outrageous
costumes and draw you back in time with some unforgettable music. Testimonies from women of faith and community will share their precious travels with
their Savior through the decades. A Silent Auction of the unique finds from our hostesses for the event will benefit, Engage4moms , our mom's group. A special boutique will highlight the evening's theme with unique inspirational gifts. T-shirts for the event are on sale now. Get yours today for just $12.

Saturday night, September 29, 2012, will be our time for fellowship just for women called Decades of TIME. The testimonies have been prepared. The stage has been set. The fashion models are attired. The music has been cued. The entire event has been planned to show you just how God walks before you as you faithfully travel through decades of time.

Invite any woman you know who needs a huge dose of love and encouragement. Load up the bus and head to First Baptist Church in Villa Rica, GA, Saturday night, September 29, 2012. It will be an evening you will not forget. There's a seat in the house just for you!
