About Us Discipleship/Connect Groups
We believe that discipleship (personal spiritual growth) is extremely important in the life of an individual, and First Baptist wants to give you resources to help you in your spiritual development. One of the ways we accomplish this is through our Connect groups.Connect groups provide the opportunity to dig deeper on various spiritual topics through Bible study and discussion. Connect groups might use a portion of the Bible, a DVD with study guide, or a book study to begin the conversation. However, it's the dialogue that happens in the group, along with God's Spirit, that can bring about real life change. We try to keep the groups small enough for everyone to feel comfortable participating in. And for continuity, we ask folks to commit to making attendance and participation a priority.
Some groups meet at the church and some meet in homes and at various times. Several groups meet on Sunday night in order to take advantage of child care. According to the study, there may be a cost for materials.
