Our 3D Mission Statement
“First Baptist Villa Rica exists to discover God's goodness, develop into His likeness and deploy into His service.”
This is our mission as a church and as individuals. In reflecting on our spiritual life, we should each ask, "How am I discovering the love of God? How am I developing into His likeness? and How am I deploying into His service?" By answering each of these questions, we will experience the abundant life that Jesus came to offer us! (John 10:10)
Our 3-D Growth Strategy
We believe that spiritual growth and church body integration is a 3 dimensional process. The three areas begin as a progression, but continue on as a repeating and interweaving pattern. Each area has an introduction class, key connections, key concepts, and important calendar items (daily habits, weekly programs, and special events).
Discover (upward)
We begin with discovery, but because God is infinite, as we continue to grow, we discover more of who He is, what He has done and how we can know Him. There will never come a point in this life when we have discovered all there is to know about God and His creation!
Discovery Class - Join us for the , a 5 week series during the Sunday school hour that introduces the journey to discovery. You will learn about God, His creation and His plan. We also introduce the basics of who we are as Southern Baptists and as a local church (this class is offered periodically and is a requirement for church membership).
Develop (inward)
Through intentional pursuit, we Develop an awareness of our own gifts, abilities and other personal qualities that shape us for His purposes.The Develop Process becomes more individualized with personality, spiritual gifts and values testing along with small group discussion with the aim of helping you see how you are uniquely shaped. There is also more emphasis on personal discipleship during this stage.
Develop Class - This 6 week class takes a look at your spiritual shape, the spiritual disciplines, and your personal story. This is the next step in preparing for spiritual growth and ministry!
Deploy (outward)
God awareness and self-awareness leads to an others-awareness that calls us to action - action that uses our unique shape but relies on His resurrection power. In the Deploy stage, we help you find the ministry that you were made for, and then set you free to serve in the area that will glorify Him most, serve others best, and give you your greatest joy. If such a ministry does not already exist in our church, we will help you partner learn how to take a ministry from burden to fruition.Downloads
