Our Story

How it all started...

First Baptist Villa Rica was established in 1843 and met in a small schoolhouse in old Villa Rica.  In 1885 the congregation moved to it's Main Street location.  As membership grew over the years, additional facilities were added to the Main Street location. The church's first brick building was built in 1935.  Relocation or renovation became a topic of prayer and discussion during the late 1980s. After many years of prayer and seeking God's will, the decision was made to relocate. Forty-four acres of land was purchased at 1483 W. Highway 78 and erection of a multipurpose building began. The church moved it's location in December 1998.

Expanding the vision...

Phase 2, which included an 1100 seat sanctuary and additional education space, was completed at the end of 2003.
Phase III included The Life Center. A multi-purpose building that comes equipped with a cafe, commercial  kitchen, gymnasium, separate worship spaces for middle and high school, and much more.
This was all completed  in 2018.

Where we are headed...

Many  have faithfully served First Baptist Church throughout its history. Each pastor, minister, volunteer, deacon, and member have been influential in shaping the spiritual lives of our community.
In just 6 years (2013-2019) we baptized 1000 new believers, expanded our campus, planted churches in Guatemala, and have increased our support to those in need in our area.

FBCVR will continue to serve, love, and be obedient to God's Word.
We believe in being a mission minded church.
We are a family.
