What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Villa Rica First Baptist Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Revelation

God has revealed Himself to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.

Mankind

Humans were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised Him from the dead and now, by grace, offers a free gift of eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

The Church

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Resurrection

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on Earth.

GOD'S SIMPLE PLAN OF SALVATION

Please take a moment to reflect upon the amazing gift of salvation God gave us through his son Jesus Christ.

ALL HAVE SINNED

We are all sinners but God is perfect:
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God
Our sins have separated us from God but HE has a plan:
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We can not get to heaven by being good or doing good deeds:
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

WE MUST BELIEVE

Jesus, God’s only son, died on the cross to take the punishment for our sin; and after three days rose from the grave and is now at the right hand of God.
John 3:16 For God so love the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
JESUS CHRIST PAID OUR DEBT OF SIN
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

WHAT MUST YOU DO TO BE SAVED?

  1. BELIEVE that you are a sinner and that Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment for your sin.
  2. ASK JESUS to save you from your sin.  When you believe on Jesus as your Savior, God forgives your sin.
Romans 10:13 For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty.  Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into their life by faith.

PRAY

“Dear God, I believe by faith that Jesus, your Son, died on the cross to be my Savior.  I believe he arose from the grave to live as my Lord.  I turn from my sin.  I ask You, Lord Jesus, to forgive my sin and come into my heart.  I trust you as my Savior and receive you as my Lord.  Thank you, Jesus for saving me.”
